Pouring more money into Down syndrome research won’t just benefit those with an extra 21st chromosome. Some experts believe people with Down syndrome hold the key to unlocking the mysteries behind Alzheimer’s disease and childhood leukemia. That’s because individuals with Down syndrome are at an increased risk for both those things.

Willow has experienced several medical miracles during her short 5 years on earth. Did her extra chromosome play a role?
